Quantum Class 18, Mon 2020-11-02

1 The pace of this course

I'm trying to keep things relaxed. I introduce you to fun stuff that you can pursue on your own.

  1. Is this pace reasonable?

  2. Do you want deeper math?

  3. Do you want required readings/viewings before class?

  4. (Everyone's camera is off but for mine.) Do you want me to require you to enable your cameras, and then I call on you with questions?

2 General

  1. The WIRED Guide to Quantum Computing Nice non-too-technical summary of the history. The theory preceded the realization. This happens sometimes, e.g., with atomic energy.

  2. Quantum Computing 2020 Update 11:58.

  3. Open-Source Quantum Software Projects

5 Microsoft quantum computing

  1. They offer a cloud service on 3 platforms: Honeywell, IonQ, QCI.

Microsoft Is Taking Quantum Computers to the Cloud

  2. Microsoft Quantum

A lot of stuff, with a low S/N.

  3. Microsoft quantum blog

  4. Azure Quantum Developer Workshop. 5:05:25.

This is a little diffuse; watch on your own if you wish.

  5. For faster quantum computing, Microsoft builds a better qubit 11/7/2019.

  6. Microsoft Quantum Documentation gateway to a lot of stuff.
